This is our first published workshop video from the 2012 Law and Disorder Conference in Portland, OR. We hope you enjoy this video, and the ones to come! For this video, Rose City Copwatch gives the workshop ‘Abolishing The Police’. Watch a wonderful, thought provoking workshop discussion around the reasons why people believe we need the police in our society, and community alternatives to the police and how to put them into practice.

Hi Mark… If you download the video via RealPlayer it has the ability to extract the mp3… So no one need convert the format as we all have the means to do it ourselves. Hope that helps…

This is a great talk, I wish I had been there. As someone who recently had my house raided by the police because of a false allegation, in front of my young children and neighbours, I now have a fear and hatred for the Police. I always sort of did, but when the invade your home it’s another level. They have threatened me that if I take any action they will be back, meaning they could set me up. I know what I can do now is start my own cop watch here in Syd, Australia as the more people I speak to here have had similar experiences. Thanks again for the information, insight and inspiration!!
