To say goodbye to owner John Holer and Marineland on their last day of the season, M.A.D put on a very successful 800-1000 person demonstration. The protest was attended by Ric O’Barry of ‘Save Japans Dolphins‘, concerned citizens, and animal rights activists from all over the country. To show solidarity, members of the April 28th CoalitionCUPE 3903, and Justice for Migrant Workers showed up to stand with the community and those who are against this injustice. This lively protest was full of singing, dancing, and chanting and eventually led to 200 activists storming the gates, taking over the dolphin arena causing park guests to be escorted out, and successfully shutting down the show. Only one arrest was made. They were cited with trespassing ($65 ticket), and released. Watch the video for the dolphin arena takeover.
